Join the Frank Street Bee and Butterfly Garden
The Frank St. Bee and Butterfly Gardens exists to provide a beautiful space to build friendships and community while learning how to support local pollinators and ecosystems. If this sounds fun to you, come join our group!
About the Garden
The Frank Street Bee and Butterfly Garden is a grassroots volunteer-run pollinator garden group founded in 2020. We're based in the Centretown neighbourhood of Ottawa.
With farmers and gardeners using pesticides and the disappearance of habitats for insects to live in, bee and butterfly populations are in sharp decline throughout much of the world. The Frank Street Bee and Butterfly Garden is dedicated to doing what they can to attract pollinators rather than swat them away. Wildflowers in the garden include over 54 native species.
Our Garden starts at the corner of Bank Street by Books Bazar and extends on the north side of Frank alongside the Staples parking lot. We also have various other locations around the neighbourhood.
Much of our work is hands on, in-person at the garden on Frank St. Some work takes place online, so you can help out even if you can't always make it to the garden!
